I have always had a deep passion for uplifting those in my life and community. Whether it's helping a friend during a difficult time or caring for a loved one struggling through sickness, I strive to live each and every day to be in service to those who need it most. I choose to care for others not out of obligation, but because I have believed in its importance since the earliest years of my life.
With my Mom passing away in the first few months of my life, growing up in a single-parent household instilled many valuable lessons at a young age. Watching my Dad work tirelessly to provide for my siblings and I instilled the importance of what it truly means to support and care for those you love. Regardless of the obstacles that stood in front of him, he always made sure to lend a hand to anyone who needed it, no matter how big or small the issue was.
It was through his acts of selflessness that I found immense value in helping others. Seeing him treat people with the kindness and respect they deserved provided me with a deep understanding of what it means to help others. Learning this at an extraordinarily early age allowed me to explore this notion throughout my subsequent upbringing, leading me towards opportunities that enable me to help those who surround me.
Having the opportunity to work with the Reaumond Foundation which is filled with individuals who put others before themselves to help fight pancreatic cancer is truly amazing. I wholeheartedly believe the purpose of being a human is to serve those around you and to show compassion and the will to help others. - Luke Mallard
