Meet Betty, Our September Guest at Homes of Hope!

My name is Betty Owen, and I reside in Springfield, MO with my husband, Tom, of 59 years. Traveling the 634 miles to MD Anderson in Houston has been both emotionally and financially challenging for us. Initially treated closer to home at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis, we were grateful when MD Anderson accepted me for further treatment, including an earlier-than-expected Whipple surgery on 9/16, which offers the best chance to overcome my pancreatic cancer.

The Reaumond Foundation has been instrumental in arranging our stay at their beautiful condo on 1711 Old Spanish Trail. This accommodation significantly alleviates the financial strain caused by travel and lodging expenses. While we previously spent four weeks in Houston for radiation treatments in July and August, availability at Homes for Hope was limited at that time. Being able to stay in their condo now is truly a blessing.

Thank you sincerely for your generous support in providing housing assistance during this critical time for us. Your kindness makes a tremendous difference in our journey towards healing.
