Why I fight?
It was November 6th of 2021 when this little girl came to change and brighten our lives, Emilia was born in Chicago at the Northwest Hospital, I remember she had very good timing always, seemed like she waited for me so she could be born since I landed in Chicago a few hours before my sister broke water, I remember how I could not believe something so small could be so full of love. The following week after she was born the pediatrician sent her to see an ophthalmologist to have her eyes checked since she saw something odd, we thought it was going to be something insignificant, but unfortunately, the ophthalmologist confirmed that she was not able to see and will never be able to. It was devastating news because you always envision a perfect life with your niece. Emilia has taught me that disability is just a matter of perception and that you don’t need eyes to have vision, she is a perfectly happy and incredibly smart girl who will be able to do everything she proposes herself to do. It does not matter if it is for cancer, disabilities, blindness, etc. we need to always help each other and always give our share to the community, life is a rollercoaster, and you never know when the good karma will get back to you. I am proud and happy to be fighting for Cancer, see you in the ring, and together we will knock out Cancer!
